DRx Clinical Research is home to a dedicated team of professionals committed to advancing medical science in Southern Utah, including Southern Nevada. Our multidisciplinary team includes family medicine physicians, internists, psychiatrists, podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, pulmonologists, dermatologists, and plastic surgeons, mid-levels and general surgeons all working together to develop safe and effective therapies.


Our team brings deep, hands‑on expertise across a broad range of analgesic models, including abdominoplasty, bunionectomy, cataract surgery, chronic and back pain (Schedule I), diabetic peripheral neuropathy, herniorrhaphy, osteoarthritis, and total joint procedures of the knee, hip, and shoulder. With decades of combined experience, DRx delivers precise pain‑assessment execution using a developed methodology and produces reliable data quality across both acute and chronic pain studies.

Denise Roberts, RN

Denise Roberts, Owner/President of DRx Clinical Research, is a distinguished healthcare professional with over 34 years of experience in Telemetry, ICU, Trauma and Perioperative nursing inclusive of over 17 years as a Clinical Research Executive specializing in project management and site development. She has led clinical operations at national research organizations and served on scientific leadership teams, developing and managing postoperative analgesic programs and multi-therapeutic portfolios across internal medicine, endocrinology, cardiology, rheumatology, oncology, dermatology, nephrology, CNS, and ophthalmology. Denise has designed and run a 10,000-square-foot acute pain research facility with operating rooms and inpatient capacity, and she has managed and contributed to more than 300 clinical trials across phases and therapeutic areas, including a wide range of intraoperative and postoperative pain and anesthesia indications.


Denise’s leadership blends hands-on clinical expertise with strategic operational insight, focused on training, root-cause problem solving, and building collaborative relationships with physicians, sponsors, and CROs. She is recognized for driving measurable site growth and strong financial performance through targeted process improvements, recruitment strategies, and pragmatic trial design, and for traveling globally to train clinicians and implement new techniques. Her approach is intelligent, organized, and trust-centered, emphasizing professional development and operational excellence to deliver reliable, high-quality trial outcomes.

Charvette Patrick, NREMT-P

Site Director

Charvette Patrick is a results-driven clinical research and healthcare operations leader with 19+ years of experience in clinical trials, surgical services, and patient-centered care. An executive leader with bedside credibility, she accelerates study start-up, optimizes enrollment, and ensures regulatory excellence (GCP) across multi-site trials.


A strategic, hands-on administrator, she remains engaged on the clinical floor, bridging leadership with execution. She brings experience across all phases (Phase I–IV) and has contributed to surgical center development, with leadership of a 19-bed inpatient unit, a 2-OR ASC, and mobile clinical teams. She drives efficiency, builds high-performing teams, and delivers strong patient outcomes.



A certified Paramedic who developed an ACLS program and serves as an ACLS, BLS, and PALS instructor, she offers expertise across cardiac, endocrine, infectious disease, and psychiatric research, and serves as an ophthalmology/optometry clinical rater.

Dr. Dana Hardin – St. George, UT

Family Practice – Advanced Family & Flight Medicine

Dr. Dana B. Hardin is a family medicine doctor in St. George, Utah and is affiliated with Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital. Dr. Hardin is a board‑certified Family Medicine physician with more than 25 years of clinical experience and a strong record of leadership across outpatient medicine, home health, hospice, and aviation medical evaluation. As a Principal Investigator with DRx Clinical Research, he brings disciplined clinical judgment, operational steadiness, and a commitment to high‑quality, protocol‑driven research. His early work in acute and chronic back pain research supports his evidence‑based approach to clinical development.


Dr. Hardin completed his Family Practice Residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Rockford, where he served as Chief Resident and gained extensive experience in urgent care and primary care settings. He earned his B.S. in Zoology from Brigham Young University and has maintained continuous board certification in Family Medicine since 1999. His clinical career includes long‑standing roles at Snow Canyon Clinic, Advanced Family Medicine, and two decades as Medical Director for Home Health and Hospice.



In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hardin serves as a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner for the FAA, providing specialized medical evaluations for pilots and aviation professionals. He holds active Utah licensure as a Physician & Surgeon, maintains a Controlled Substances Schedule 2–5 license, and is CITI‑certified in Good Clinical Practice (2025). Fluent in Taiwanese and deeply rooted in the St. George medical community, he brings cultural competence, clinical breadth, and operational reliability to every study he supports.

Dr. Brent Clark – St. George, UT

Podiatrist – Coral Desert Foot & Ankle

Dr. Brent Clark, DPM is a podiatry specialist in the St. George, Utah area. He grew up in the Inland Northwest regions of Eastern Oregon and Washington. He graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1999. In addition, he completed his residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, and the VA Puget Sound Health Care Systems in Tacoma, Washington. He currently practices at Coral Desert Foot and Ankle Center and is affiliated with IMC Hospital. Dr. Clark is board certified in Foot Surgery and accepts multiple insurance plans.



Dr. Clark believes in a coordinated team approach to treatment of foot and ankle disorders and feels that medical and surgical decisions should be based on scientific evidence. His research has been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Clark's specializes in surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle modalities. Areas of interest include treatment of pes planus (flatfoot) and other disorders of misaligned forefoot, rearfoot, and/or ankle. He is extensively trained in surgical repair of traumatic musculoskeletal injuries to the foot and ankle, as well as a special interest in healing chronic wounds and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Jeffery Stewart - St. George, UT

Dr. Quinten Rowley – St. George, UT

Podiatrist – Southwest Foot & Ankle

Quinten G. Rowley, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA, is a board-certified podiatrist specializing in foot surgery, diabetic foot care, and wound management. Currently practicing at Southwest Foot & Ankle, in St. George, Utah, Dr. Rowley brings over two decades of expertise in comprehensive podiatric care, including advanced surgical interventions and wound care coordination.

 

Dr. Rowley is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. He holds certifications in foot surgery, diabetic wound prevention, and diabetic footwear. He has successfully maintained his board certifications through rigorous recertification processes, demonstrating his commitment to the highest standards of podiatric medicine.

 

Before joining Southwest Foot & Ankle, Dr. Rowley served as the Lead Staff Podiatrist and Wound Care Coordinator at Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc., where he developed a successful wound care program that consistently exceeded national healing rate averages. His leadership in surgical podiatry services and his dedication to patient care earned him the prestigious "Eagle Award" as Provider of the Year.

 

Dr. Rowley earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University and completed his surgical residency at Corona Regional Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Resident. He holds surgical privileges at St. George Surgical Center and Hemet Healthcare Surgical Center, among others.

Dr. David Magnesen - ST. George, UT

Podiatrist – Southwest Foot & Ankle

David Magnesen, DPM, has over 21 years of experience in diagnosing and treating all injuries and conditions that affect the lower extremities. He provides integrative podiatric care at Southwest Foot & Ankle in St. George, Utah, Ely, Nevada, and Caliente, Nevada.


Dr. Magnesen completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, where he was awarded a Trustee Scholarship. He was then accepted into graduate school and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in San Francisco.


After graduation, Dr. Magnesen was accepted into a competitive podiatric residency program at the Lakewood Regional Medical Center in California.


Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Magnesen can communicate with diverse groups of people.

Dr. Marcus Peterson – St. George, UT

Plastic Surgeon – Center for Advanced Plastic Surgery

Marcus L. Peterson, MD FACS is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and has been in practice since 1998. Dr. Peterson performs all facets of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in his practice and is licensed in both Utah and Nevada. His practice includes offices in St. George, Utah and Las Vegas/Henderson, Nevada, where patients may have their consults and follow-up appointments conveniently close to home. To significantly reduce costs for his patients, all procedures are performed in Dr. Peterson’s St. George, Utah location in a fully accredited AAAHC Surgery Center. Dr. Peterson enjoys getting to know his patients as individuals and takes the time to understand their desired outcomes as they consult with him.


Dr. Peterson updates his credentials by re-certifying in Plastic Surgery every 10 years. Dr. Peterson also earned the Certificate of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery from the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Exceptional patient care through experience, expertise and desired results are Dr. Peterson’s goals for each of his patients.

Dr. Edward Prince - St. George, UT

Orthopedic Surgeon – Revere Health Coral Desert Orthopaedics

Edward Prince has always had a lifelong interest in health, and when he combined that with his woodworking skills that have made his hands useful, orthopedic surgery was a natural career choice. When first attending medical school, he liked the idea of surgery early in his sudies.


Dr. Prince earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Utah, then continued his education at the Medical College of Wisconsin earning his medical degree (MD) with AOA honors. Additionally, he is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.


Dr. Prince loves improving the quality of life for his patients and helping them to walk again. He performs a lot of hip and knee replacement surgeries, which helps him to hone his skills and improve patient outcomes. He enjoys complex revisions of both hip and knee replacements and enjoys solving the various issues that can occur with these procedures.

Dr. Richard Winder – St. Geroge, UT

Orthopedic Surgeon – Desert Orthopaedic Center

Richard P. Winder, M.D., is a native of Logan, Utah. He graduated as valedictorian from Logan High School and cum laude from Brigham Young University. He went on to receive his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Dr. Winder completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.


Following his residency, Dr. Winder was invited to participate in a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama, under the direction of Dr. James R. Andrews. There he provided care to many professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes and their families. Dr. Winder was specifically assigned as a team physician for the Tuskegee University and Auburn University football programs, Birmingham Barons baseball, WWE Professional Wrestling Association, and the Alabama Ballet.


Dr. Winder is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
